I’ve been lots of things: salesman, teacher, submariner, tech support specialist and manager for several computer companies (Tandy, GRiD, AST, and Micronpc), business owner, BNI director, and web designer. I have been helping people with their computers since 1982, starting with Radio Shack.
Your computer is really about your business and your life. You store memories on your computer in pictures, maybe in your writing. Your computer may contain your business. I love solving problems with PC’s and networks. Most business owners do not like working on technical issues. Yes, sometimes I do get frustrated. I like designing systems that meet client’s needs, or just helping. I volunteer to help with computers at my church and my children’s school.
Yes, you probably can do your own support. Sometimes this is a necessity. But, unless computers are your business, your time is better spent on what you do best. Division of labor does work. Your or your office manager have better things to do!
