  1. Yes, first check that it is plugged in and has power.  Is the monitor plugged in with power?  Make sure the monitor is attached to the video on the computer.
  2. Do you see anything on the screen when you try to power up the computer?
    1. I hear nothing at all. I see nothing on the screen.   Most likely problem is the power supply or the motherboard.
    2. You hear the sounds of it booting up, but see nothing?  Try plugging the monitor into another computer.  If it works, then you may have a video problem .  If it has a separate card, try replacing it.  If the video is on the motherboard, the motherboard may need to be replaced.  You may need help.
    3. You see the initial screen, but cannot get to Windows.  Possible problems are the hard drive.  Probably needs replacement.  DIY or call for help.
    4. If you know how to replace parts, you may want to try this yourself.
    5. If you are having trouble following this, you probably need help from someone.
